WORK ON RESTING

 We who have believed do enter into REST.- Hebrews 4:3


           It takes renewing the mind to break out of the “trying to earn the blessings” mode. We have been so ingrained with a performance based society, that receiving by grace through faith is foreign to many people.

          True faith is actually a restful, peaceful place! True faith is living a worry free life even in the midst of adverse circumstances. Faith in God’s grace is supposed to eliminate all worry and fear that we might not make it through the storm. If we are still worrying and fretting after we have prayed our prayer, then we are not trusting in the Grace of God to come through for us, but rather trusting in our own ability. This is where most people miss it: They pray and pray, but they never enter into “rest!” They won’t BELIEVE that their prayer was heard until they see some kind of change in their circumstances. Let’s not do that! Let’s enter into rest because God’s Word has promised us perfect deliverance, and no matter what it looks like or feels like, His grace is sufficient, and things will change!

         Choose to be at peace knowing that God loves you and that He’s not looking for perfection in order to help you out. He’s looking for your faith in His grace so He CAN give you all you need! Resting in faith that God’s grace will come through for you is as powerful as it gets!

We LOVE HIM because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19          When You are in a love relationship with someone, it’s no longer “works” to do those things that please the one you love. The tendency is works when there is no relationship. When we are acutely aware of the love   relationship we are in with the Lord Jesus, not only will we be recipients of the good things He does for us, but we will also be joyfully passionate about doing what pleases Him. “We love him BECAUSE, he first loved us!” If doing what pleases the Lord becomes a “works” thing, then it’s time to remind yourself of his great love for you and your love for Him.
